How To Use PainFix Restore Patches

By PainFix co-founder PainFixMY Admin

Application

PainFix Restore Patches deliver a therapeutic dose of pain relief over an extended period to weak and sore areas of your body. Each patch comes with an adhesive sheet to secure the patch in place. To apply, place the Restore Patch onto the center of the sheet’s sticky side, then peel off the protective layer on the patch to expose its sticky hydrogel side.

We recommend using the Restore Patches as part of your personalized Recovery Kit, which is based on your answers to our short questionnaire.

Here are some tips to apply the Restore Patch to your body:

Knee

Due to the constant movement of your knee during the course of your day, applying Restore Patches to your knee requires some practice. Always apply the patch and adhesive sheet with your knee bent. To allow for more movement, you can cut the provided adhesive sheet into four equal strips and place each strip at a diagonal to each corner of the patch. You can also use a store-bought bandage instead of the supplied adhesive sheet to hold the patch in place throughout the day.

If you feel discomfort deeper behind your knee cap or have arthritic knees, apply one patch on the front and another on the back of your knee. If your pain is on the outside of the knee, then it may be due to iliotibial (IT) band syndrome. Position one patch on the outside of your knee, and another along tight areas of your IT band.

IT Band

IT band issues can cause pain in your outer knee as well as your hip. The root cause of IT band syndrome is usually in the hip area, so apply a Restore Patch in that area as well as on the outside of your knee where you feel the pain.

Shoulder

Slightly stretch the Restore Patch as you apply it on your shoulder, so that it you cover the front and back of your shoulder. You can cut the Restore Patch into two halves and place one half on the front of your shoulder and the other on the back. If you have a stiff or frozen shoulder, place an extra patch on the tight area of your shoulder blade muscles too.

Elbows

Bend your elbow first before applying the Restore Patch to ensure that the patch has some give when you flex your arm. To allow for more movement, you can cut the provided adhesive sheet into four equal strips lengthwise and place each strip at a diagonal to each corner of the patch.

For tennis elbows (and golfers’ elbow), cut the Restore Patch and an adhesive sheet in half lengthwise, and apply the patch along the outside (or inside) of your elbow.

Hands and Fingers

Cut the Restore Patch and adhesive sheet into five equal strips. Wrap each strip around the finger joint that hurts, using the adhesive strip to hold it in place.

If you have a trigger finger, wrap a narrow strip of the Restore Patch around the affected finger, then use the larger remaining patch on your palm, making sure you cover the base of the affected finger. Use a bandage to hold the patch in place.

Heel and Foot

Peel the adhesive sheet, then place the Restore Patch in the center, with its sticky side up. If someone is not around to assist you, place the combined Patch and adhesive sheet on the floor and step your heel gently onto the middle of the patch. Wrap the sides securely around your foot, folding the excess like you would when you gift wrap and then cutting them away.

For plantar fasciitis, apply the Restore Patch along the entire sole of your foot, securing in place with the adhesive sheet.

Lower Back

Aim to place the patch and adhesive sheet on the trigger points or muscle spasms in your lower back muscles or glutes. If your pain is along the vertebrae, carefully apply the patch in a vertical orientation along the spine. Get a friend to help you to reach those difficult spots.

If you’re always on the move or planning a trip, bring along some Restore Patches for your peace of mind.

Patch Removal

To remove the patch and adhesive sheet from your skin, press down on the skin while you peel the adhesive sheet off with your other hand. Do this slowly to reduce any pain from the removal, especially if there’s hair in the area.
